Nice square with a lot of restaurants and bars. Has more to do than dam square in my opinion, and not as crowded. The square was built In 1660, and its name was taken from the gate which stood there until 1862 and was the gate from which people arrived from thet city of Leiden. Interestingly, The original reason for the construction of the square was to be a parking place for the carriages of those who arrived to the city

a nice place with lots of bars and eateries. it can get a bit crowded sometimes with tourists, but Rembrandtplein is even worse in that regard, and grimier too.
It's a great place to go. Has everything you're looking for. Restaurants, cafes, fast food places and a great variety of stores. Walk around with time to discover hidden gems. Easy to go from anywhere in the city. Trams take you there fast and comfortable. Always crowded, but you can find a place for you.

A good place to hangout in the evening. Very crowded during the weekends but its a vibe. Lots of options get food or drinks. And also get some shopping done
It seems like all the roads lead there...so many teams and people moving together, many restaurants around a fun place to eat and drink.
